Lentz Ray Morton, Sr.

Lentz Ray Morton, Sr., 92, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Sunday, June 13, 2021, in Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, S.C. Born in Albemarle, N.C., he was a son of the late Ernest D. Morton and Lillie Dennis Morton. Mr. Morton was the former owner of NAPA Auto Parts in Kershaw. He was currently a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. He was a former member of First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday School Secretary. He also enjoyed gardening. Mr. Morton bravely served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Julia Anne Tyson Morton; his son, Lentz Ray “Len” Morton, Jr. and his wife, Joan of Mint Hill, N.C.; 2 daughters, Patricia M. Croxton and her husband, Scott of Kershaw, S.C. and Denise M. Rozman and her husband, Dave of Seneca, S.C.; 5 grandchildren, Jessica C. Kreis and her husband, Mike, Luke Croxton and his wife, Anna, Mackenzie Gillespie, Kelsey Bagwell and her husband, David and Monica Rozman; 8 great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Williams of Albemarle, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. A private family burial will precede the service in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
