Graveside inurnment services for Lawrence Stephen Olds, “Yank” as he was called by his family and host of friends will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, March 9, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Pastor Cotton Pate and Mr. Chris Knight will conduct the service. Friends are also invited to share a story or memory during the service.
“Yank” died Monday, March 5, at CMC-Pineville, Pineville, NC. Born in Erie, PA. He was a son of the late James D. and Millie Meyers Olds. “Yank” was a boiler maker in the construction industry for many years. He served in the United States Air Force and attended Frontline Biker Church. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing in earlier years. He was a shriner and a member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211. “Yank” had a passion for motorcycles and loved all aspects of motorcycling.
Surviving are his 3 children, James D. ( Holly) Olds, Shannon (Nichole) Olds and Heather (Dennis) Kelly; 3 grandchildren, Madison Spears, Chance Kelly and Channon Kelly. He had a host of friends including special friends Anthony “T-bone” and Karla Knight Deese.
The family will speak to friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.
