Kevin James Sowell

Kevin James Sowell, 45, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away at his home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of Bettysue Byers Sowell and the late Wendell Ervin Sowell. Kevin worked in the construction industry, loved playing sports and enjoyed fishing. He also loved his children and never met a stranger.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Shelby Moseley; 4 children, James William Sowell, Alyssa Sowell, Carson Luke Sowell and Sean Sowell; 3 step children, Anthony (Desiree) Threatt, Sharon (Daniel) Hammon and Chris (Grace) Threatt; special daughter, Haley Shantal Holley and 8 grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 brothers, Dee (Angie) Loucks, Mark (Jim) Loucks, Gary (John) Loucks and Billy (Robin) Sowell.

Shelby and her family will hold a memorial service, Monday, May 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. in House of Prayer of Open Arms Church, Kershaw. The Revs. Nathan Barrett and Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
