A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kevan Neil Thompson, 58 of Heath Springs, SC will be held at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon, Friday, September 26, 2014, in the sanctuary of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4357 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Heath Springs. Revered Steve Anglin will conduct the service. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m., prior to the service at the church and other times at the home, 298 Boyd Faile Road, Heath Springs. Mr. Thompson died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Thomas Neil Thompson and the late Katie Robinson Thompson. Mr. Thompson was retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control. He also enjoyed golfing and cutting grass. Surviving in addition to his father of Lancaster are his wife of 37 years, Linda Peach Thompson of the home; two daughters, Mindy Baker (Josh) of Camden, Katie Thompson (Gatlin) of Heath Springs; three grandchildren, Allan Cox, Nataleigh Baker and Kirsten Jenkins; his sister, Jane Renee Thompson (John Seegars) of Kershaw; his brother, Richard L. Thompson of Liberty Hill; his sister-in-law, Sandy Thompson; his mother-in-law, Tyther Moore and a nephew, Dylan Hammond. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the wonderful staff of CMC-Main, 7th floor ICU for the love, support and care shown to them. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979
