A graveside service for Kathy Scott Odom 81, of Kershaw, S.C., will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016, in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Robin Hewitt will officiate.
Mrs. Odom, loving wife of 29 years to Robert E. “Bob” Odom passed away peacefully at KershawHealth, Camden, S.C., on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was born in the Tradesville Community of Lancaster, S.C., on September 28, 1935. Kathy was the retired owner and operator of Kershaw Jewelry and Gifts in Kershaw and Camden and the Country Store in Kershaw. Kathy had a radiance about her that was catching. Her warm heart and gentle spirit were evident the first time you met her. Kathy’s talents and passions were decorating, floral arranging, gardening and shopping for antiques. She along with her husband “Bob” maintained several venues for antiques, which kept her busy. She was active in her community. Kathy was a former Board Member for the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce and was the co-founder of the Kershaw Christmas Parade. She and ” Bob” were honored to serve as parade Grand Marshals several years ago. She was also a active member of the King Alfred Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Odom of the home; a son, Michael Dean Morgan and his wife Josie of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a half-sister, Sue Robinson of Lancaster and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Sheila Phillips and Melba Jean Rape.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Odom may be made to the charity of one choice.
