Julius Levy “Buddy” Faile, age 74 of Kershaw, S.C. died Friday morning, November 17, 2023, in MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Jake Faile and Bessie Byrd Faile. Mr. Faile took an early retirement from E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Co. He found enjoyment by serving as a teaching assistant with Lancaster County School District. Mr. Faile loved all sports. He passionately served as an official for football, basketball, baseball, and softball. He was a faithful member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. Mr. Faile loved to travel and play golf. He was most proud of his service to his country by serving in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and serving in Vietnam.
He is survived his loving wife of 54 years, Jeanette Faulkenberry Faile; his son, Scott Faile, his daughter, Renee’ Jost; 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Andy) Whisnant, Breanna (Jarrett) Pearson, Cameron Faile, Kallie Jost, Landon Jost and Mike Jost; 2 great grandchildren, Dawson Whisnant and Colton Whisnant and Baby Pearson due June 2024; 2 brothers, Billy Faile and Bobby Faile; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Edwina) Faulkenberry and Kenny (Becky) Faulkenberry and numerous close nieces and nephews.
A service to remember and honor his life will be held in the sanctuary of Buffalo Baptist Church, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. Rev. Larry Humphries will officiate. Inurnment will follow the church cemetery with military honors rendered by Shaw Air Force Base Honor Guard.
The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the committal service.
