Joyce Bowers Outen

A funeral service for Joyce Bowers Outen, 46 of Kershaw will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bobby James will officiate. Mrs. Outen died Monday, April 6, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of Judy Moseley Payne and the late Billy Joe Bowers. She was a crew member at Arby’s of Camden and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren and always put her family first. Surviving are her husband, B. Randall Outen of the home; her mother and step-father, Judy M. and Doug Payne; a son; Ricky R. Outen and his wife Pam of Cassatt; a daughter, Cristy M. Outen of Kershaw and her special friend, Tyris Tucker; three grandchildren, Jazelle M. Jones, Latrell D. Jones and Makell L. Jones; four sisters, Janet B. Galuppi and her husband Greg of Westville, Jodie B. Snipes and her husband Robert of Kershaw, Amy DeRoin of Heath Springs, Mandy J. Deese and her husband Chuck of Kershaw; a brother, Brian Payne and his wife Nell of Columbia; paternal grandmother, Iva Mae Bowers of Kershaw, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law; Jimmy and Mary Lou Knight of Lancaster and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Candy P. Russell; granddaughter, Deanna Marie Jones; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Mary Moseley; paternal grandfather, Carl J. Bowers and her father-in-law, Billy Outen. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the church Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton St., Kershaw, SC 29067 to help with funeral expenses. Baker Funeral Home is serving the Outen family.
