Joy Derryberry Williams, 84, of Lancaster, S.C., passed away Thursday evening, June 2, 2022, at her home. Born in Nashville, TN., she was a daughter of the late Reeves Derryberry and Elizabeth Palmer Derryberry. Joy owned and operated an antiques shop in Waxhaw, N.C., for many years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and painting.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John Houston “Jack” Williams; 2 daughters, Susan W. Farmer and her husband, Dennis, Sherry W. Blankenship and a son, Shawn H. Williams; 7 grandchildren, Jamie, Rebekah, Anna, Katie, David, Brian and Ashley; 13 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Kay D. Rodgers and Becky Baugh and her husband, Bowman.
Visitation with the family will be begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2022, in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Rev. Edgar McCall will officiate.
A private inurnment will take place in the church columbarium prior to the visitation.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 990, Lancaster, S.C. 29721, in memory of Mrs. Williams.
