Jon Mark Coates

Jon Mark Coates, age 62, of Zebulon, N.C., passed away, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, unexpectedly. Born in Camden, S.C., he was a son of Linda McInvaille Bowers and the late John Thomas Coates. Mark was employed with A.M. Robotics as a Controls Engineer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancé, Sarah Davis; 2 sons, Jon Coates and his wife, Darlynn and Brandon Coates, a special cousin who was like a brother, Kin Catoe; 2 aunts, Janice Hansen and her husband, Dean and Janet Brock. He is also survived by his mother’s special friend, Jack Drew.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
