Johnny H. 'Pete' Benton

Funeral services for Johnny H. “Pete” Benton, 72, will be held at 4:00 P.M., Thursday, August 30, at Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Croghan. The Revs. Tim Williams and Duane Stegall will officiate. Mr. Benton, died Tuesday, August 28, in McLeod Hospice House, Florence. Born in McBee, he was the son of the late George and Kathleen Benton. Mr. Benton retired from Allvac Metals, Monroe and was a member of Beauford Baptist Church. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Benton was married to the late Nancy Watson Benton. Surviving are Thomas Watson (Jill), Calvin Watson (Rebecca), 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
