Memorial services for Johnny Albert Walden, 72, of Kershaw, will be held at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 18, 2011, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Parker will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia. Born in Monroe, N.C. , he was the son of the late Johnny “Pappy” and Dorothy Griffin Walden. Mr. Walden died Saturday, September 17, in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. He was a retired Union Electrician, a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge, Jackson Shrine Club and a U. S. Air Force Veteran. He also enjoyed racing and golfing. Surviving are 2 daughters; Lisa Roddey and her husband “Burger”, of Lancaster, Angie Arden and her husband Mark of Columbia, 2 sons; Jeff Walden and his wife Joan of Lancaster, Chad Walden of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a number of grandchildren, 1 sister; Joann Fisher, 3 brothers; Jim Walden (Sara), Jerry Walden and Michael Walden all of Lancaster. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
