Johnnie Hunter Horton

Funeral services for Johnnie Hunter Horton, 93, will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, Westville, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. Rev. Craigan Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 6:00 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 448, Westville, SC 29175.

Mr. Horton died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. He was born in Sumter, a son of the late Hunter Hollis and Lula Bowers Horton. Mr. Horton enjoyed buying and selling tractors and farming. He was formerly employed with Haile Gold Mine and retired from Springs Industries. He was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Margaret Ann Stover and her husband, Ralph, of Monroe, NC; grandson, Kevin Stover and his wife, Jolee, of Cary N.C.; granddaughter, Anita Stover Neal and her husband, Kevin, of Mocksville, N.C.; great grandsons, James and David Neal. He was predeceased by his wife, Ottie Baker Horton.
