John Wayne Baker

Graveside services for John Wayne Baker, 59, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Cassatt Baptist Church Cemetery, Cassatt. Rev. Donnie Barrett and Rev. Dr. Anita Bozardt will officiate.

Born in Kershaw, he was the son of Martha McDonald Baker and the late Simon Baker. Mr. Baker died Monday, April 20, 2009, at his home. He was a former resident of Whitten Village and attended Damascus United Methodist Church. Mr. Baker loved going out to eat and being around people.

Surviving in addition to his mother of the home are; three sisters; Patricia B. Taylor of Cassatt, Marylin Jeannette Harvin of Birmingham, AL., Doris Thompson of Westville, two brothers; Simon Timothy Baker of Lugoff and Mark Allen Baker of Cassatt. He was preceded in death by a brother; Jerry Van Baker.

The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Cassatt Baptist Church.
