Funeral services for John T. “Peanut” Bowers, 53, of Cassatt, will be held at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Thursday, September 21, in Gum Springs Holiness Church, Camden. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bowers died Saturday, September 16, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Alton William and Juanita Patricia Branham Bowers. He was a brick mason and loved cars and rail buggies. He was also a member of Gum Springs Holiness Church.
Surviving are his wife, Doris A. Baker Thompson of the home; 2 sons, Scott Rafalko of Cassatt, Tyler Bowers of Lugoff; a daughter, Sherry Bowers of Cassatt; a number of grandchildren; a sister, Patricia B. Lovett and her husband Jeff of Cassatt; 2 brothers, Clarence Bowers and his wife Buffy of Camden; Mark Bowers and his wife Dawn of Cassatt; 3 step-daughters, Jessi Biapo of Elgin, Kim Brazell of Florida, Christina Thompson of Charleston and a step-son, Levi Brazell and his wife Anna of Texas.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20, from 6:00 to 7:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
