Funeral services for Joel Thomas Knight, 52 of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, SC. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic rites.
Mr. Knight died Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Born in Lancaster, SC, he was a son of Wesley Leverne Knight and Betsy Byrd Knight. He was a welder and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Mr. Knight was a member of Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge # 6 where he had served as Past Master. He was also a member of Shriners’, Knight Templar, Scottish Rite, Traveling Men, Charles Prince and Eastern Star. Mr. Knight was a avid Clemson fan. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his father and mother of Kershaw are his wife of 14 years, Ann Johnson Knight; his son, Jason Thomas Knight and his wife Brandy Byrdic Knight of Lancaster; his step-son, Robert Keith Evans and his fiancé, Amanda Peters of Covington, GA; his step-daughter, Susan Evans of Kershaw; 4 grandchildren, Jordyn Knight, Jaxon Knight, Brady Knight and Nevaeh Evans; his brother, Roddy Knight and his wife Sharon; his sister, Monica Pardue and her husband Jackie all of Kershaw; nephews and nieces, Daniel, Josh, Jackie, William and Kristi, and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Johnson of Covington, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
