Barbara Joann Reeves Owens, 86, of Westville, passed away, Sunday evening, February 23, 2020, at her home. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Broadus Reeves and Lucille Griffin Reeves Couch. Mrs. Owens retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed making crafts, watching cardinal birds and NASCAR racing. She also was a former Sunday School teacher in her earlier years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Phillip Owens, Jr. and a great grandson, Stephen Ryan Campbell, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Kim Owens Forrest and her husband Roger of Westville, her son, Richard Owens and his wife Julie of Westville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Colvin, Lloyd Owens, Jr., Rebecca Owens and Mitchell Forrest; a great grandson, Joshua Campbell and a sister, Sandra R. Sims and her husband Rathiel Totherow of Lancaster.
Graveside services will be conducted, Wednesday, February 26, at 1:00 p.m. in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Jason Moss will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the Owens’s home, Tuesday, February 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 o’clock p.m. and also following the graveside service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be directed to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
