A service to celebrate the life of Joan Sowell Vincent, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2011, in First Baptist Church where she was a member . Burial will be private. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate.
Mrs. Vincent, widow of Robert Lewis R.L. Vincent died Sunday, January 30, at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Luther and Ila Gay Sowell.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and was a homemaker.
Surviving are 2 sons; Larry Vincent and his wife Donna of Kershaw, Toby Vincent and his wife Vickie of Lugoff, 6 grandchildren; Jennifer Ellis (Russell), Susan Mullis (Tommy), Ben Vincent (Margie), Christie Whitehouse (Chad), Michelle Creel (Gilbert), Tony Vincent (Claire), 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, 3 sisters; Carlene Dorman (Roy), of Kershaw, Grace Roberts of Kershaw, Inez Hatchell of Florence, a brother, Clifford Sowell (Betty) and a sister-in-law; Myrtis Sowell of Camden. She was preceded in death by a brother; Paul Sowell.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, February 3, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Senior Adult Wing of First Baptist Church.
