Jessie Mae Thompson

A funeral service for Jessie Mae Horton Thompson, 88 of Jefferson, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, September 6, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson. The Revs. Terry Corder and Todd Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Memorial Park, Lancaster.

Mrs. Thompson, widow of Henry Thompson, Jr. died Thursday, September 3, at her home. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Maggie Gardner Horton. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was devoted church nursery worker and loved her church family. Mrs. Thompson also loved to fish and spend time with her family.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Helen Horton of Jefferson and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in death by four brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 6, prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m. at the church and other times at the home of her niece, 5225 Eubanks Rd., Jefferson.
