Memorial services for Jerry Lee Chicken Cauthen, 64, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church. Heath Springs. The Revs. Paul Smith and Mike Hammond will officiate. Burial will be private.
Mr. Cauthen died Sunday, June 20, at his home following a battle with cancer. Born in Heath Springs, he was the son of the late Clyburn Levy and Tcora McMurray Cauthen. Mr. Cauthen served as manager of the Liberty Hill Fire Tower and retired from the S.C. Forestry Commission. He was an avid deer hunter and served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
Surviving are his wife; Linda Dixon Cauthen of the home, three sisters; June Reeves of Kershaw, Brenda Burns and her husband Chris of Camden, Eleanor Evans of Lancaster and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his special dog; Suzy.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and Monday, June 21, anytime at the home until 8 P.M.
