Jerry F. Blackmon

Jerry F. Blackmon, age 87, died peacefully at his home, Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023. Born in Kershaw County, S.C., he was a son of the late William Lewis Blackmon and Ola Baker Cobb. He retired from Continental Tire and was a faithful member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He loved to fish, hunt and work in his yard. He also served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carolyn Stroud Blackmon; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia “Cindi” Wilson Blackmon; 2 grandsons, Matthew Blackmon and his wife, Rebekah and Britt Blackmon and his wife, Brittany; 3 great grandchildren, Wilson Claire Blackmon, Beau Blackmon, and Eli Blackmon all of Kershaw, S.C. and his sister, Annette Caulder and her husband, Stephen of Chapin, S.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Brian Blackmon.

The family will receive friends, Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The funeral service to honor Mr. Blackmon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, October 21, 2023, in the sanctuary of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Bart Miles will officiate. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank Agape Hospice and all the wonderful caregivers that have provided care for Mr. Blackmon during his illness.
