Funeral services for Jeffery Chadwick “Chad” Faulkenberry, 42, will be held Thursday, November 10, at 3:00 p.m. at Kershaw Second Baptist Church with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Kelvin Hinson, Jamie Rogers and Paul Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Andrew Jackson High School, Booster Club, P.O. Box 182, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or Flint Ridge Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1850 Flint Ridge Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058, http://flintridgebapt.org. Mr. Faulkenberry died Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Born in Camden, he was the son of John Furman Faulkenberry and Susan Elizabeth Bell Hawksworth. Chad was a teacher and football coach at Andrew Jackson High School. He was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School, Class of 1987 where he participated in football and track. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1999. Mr. Faulkenberry was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the Board of Deacons, and served as the Men’s Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed spending time with his children. He also coached baseball and basketball. Chad’s desire was to start a wrestling team at the high school. He also volunteered as a coach prior to working at the high school. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Knight Faulkenberry; sons, Luke Faulkenberry and Jake Faulkenberry of the home; his mother, Susan Bell Hawksworth of Jefferson; his father, John “Mac” Faulkenberry and step-mother, Karen of Camden; brother, Wesley Faulkenberry of Camden; maternal grandmother; Betty Bell of Kershaw, paternal grandmother; Marian Faulkenberry of Rock Hill, mother and father-in-law; Gerald & Joyce Knight of Kershaw. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Alexandria Faulkenberry, paternal grandfather; Rev. Bully Faulkenberry and maternal grandfather; Emerson Bell .
