Janie Blanche Ray

Funeral service for Janie Blanche Tolbert Ray, 73, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Ray died Monday evening, March 16, 2009, in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Reed and Nealie Catoe Tolbert. Ms. Tolbert was a member of Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church and had worked as a waitress and a caregiver.

Surviving are two daughters; Sandy Hinson and her husband, Tommy, Sherry Horton and her husband Lee and a son; Craig Ray and his wife Crystal all of Kershaw, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister; Ollie Beavers of Richlands, VA. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Frank and Willie Tolbert.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 18, 2009, from 6:00 to 7:30 at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4265 Ernest Scott Road, Kershaw.
