Janice Elizabeth Taylor Boltz passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital. Her husband, sisters and friends were with her. She was born June 10, 1956 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late R.C. Jake Taylor and Evelyn Adams Jones Taylor. She grew up as an active member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and later became a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.
Janice graduated from Lancaster High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Mars Hill College in 1978 and continued with graduate work at Clemson University. She was also a licensed practical nurse. She had a passion for protecting the environment and animals. Her musical talents included singing, playing the piano and the flute.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Eleanor Threatt, Sheila Roberts, all of Lancaster and her brother, Richard Taylor and his wife, Beth of Atlanta, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews along with her favorite cat, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joey R. Taylor.
The family will receive friends at Baker Funeral Home in Kershaw, S.C., Sunday, April 18 from 1:00 2:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park in Lancaster. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Ben Newman with music by Rev. Roy Barnes and flutist Roy Cross. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, 133 S.
