Funeral services for James Edward Jamie Arant, 35, of Jefferson will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, June 26, 2011, in Charlesboro Baptist Church, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Arant died Thursday, June 23, from injuries sustained in a ATV accident. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Frank Edward and Jo Bowers Arant. He was a professional truck driver with Praxair, Inc. in Lugoff and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with children. Mr. Arant was a 1994 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He was also a member of Charlesboro Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Kershaw are his wife; Kimberly Shute Kim Arant, his son; Dalston Keith Snipes and his daughter; Alayna Grace Arant, a sister; Becky Arant of Washington, D.C., 2 brothers; Jammy Roberts (Amy) of Winston-Salem and Gil Sims of Westville, maternal grandmother; Akiko Bowers of Camden and nephews; Chase and Eric Roberts. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather; Harold J. Bowers and his paternal grandparents; Woodrow and Gladys Arant.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:45 P.M. prior to the service on Sunday in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of his parents, 2255 Goldmine Highway, Kershaw.
