Funeral services for James Rufus Jim Williams, 64, will be held at 11:00 A.M. FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2008, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Rev. Bryant Fersner will officiate.

Mr. Williams died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Kershaw County Medical Center. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Rufus and Annie Mae Roberts Williams. He was retired from Dupont and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Williams served his country in the US Marine Corps and was a Purple Heart recipient for his service in the Vietnam War. He also was a graduate of Wingate College and attended USC.

Surviving in addition to his wife Diane M. Williams of the home , is his aunt, Mrs. S. L. Shine Gardner of Columbia and his cousins including : Luene Clyburn and family of Camden, Ralph and Ina Rose Williams of Kershaw and Bob and Judy Clyburn of Lugoff.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M Friday, May 23, 2008, prior to the service at Baker Funeral Home.
