James 'Jim' Young

Graveside services for James “Jim” Young, 85, of Kershaw, will be held at 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Kershaw City Cemetery with military honors and masonic rites. The Revs. Jesse Hegler and Dale Myers will officiate. Mr. Young died Sunday, October 9, 2011 in Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Jack and Eva Connell Young. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Dupont Co., Camden. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of Flat Rock Masonic Lodge # 178. Surviving are his son; Colonel Randy Young (Retired), US Army, a grandson; Patrick Young, both of Kershaw. Mr. Young was one of 5 boys in his family including; Andrew Young, Bill Young, Erskine Young and Bobby Young. Memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 603 Oak Ridge Church Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
