The family will hold a memorial service for James Howard ”Jimmy” Gardner, 58 of Kershaw, on Saturday, September 10, at 3:00 p.m., in Kershaw Church of God sanctuary. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary.
Mr. Gardner died Wednesday, September 7, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Robert Ward, Sr. and Pauline Roberts Gardner. Jimmy was a former wrecker driver and auto body technician. He served 6 years in the National Guard as well as serving in the State Guard. Jimmy also loved to fish and watch football.
Surviving are a son; James Eric Gardner; a daughter, Christa A. Gardner; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sandra Foster of Heath Springs, Regina G. Bowers and her husband Larry of Kershaw; 3 brothers, Robert Ward Gardner, Jr., Karl Jeffery Gardner and his wife Rhonda all of Kershaw, Stephen G. Gardner and his wife Beth of Lancaster and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah-Buffalo Rescue Squad, Tri-County Hospice or KershawHealth Hospice.
