James Edward Freeman of Bethune, age 67, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on June 8th, 2008. Born in Bethune, he was the son of the late J.T. and Hattie Rollins Freeman. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from June 14th 1960 until he was honorably discharged on June 13th 1964. He was employed by Progress Energy (formerly CP&L) from 1964 until he retired as a supervisor in 1996. Jim was a devoted member of Shamrock Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School Director/Teacher, and choir member.
He is survived by his wife; Anne G. Freeman of Bethune, children; Kenneth R. White of Savannah, GA., Katherine A. Jones of Fayetteville, N.C., Charlotte E. Truelove and her husband Travis of Fayetteville, N.C., John S. White of Camden, Grandchildren; David R. Caulder, III and his wife Marsha of Columbia, Sarah M. Sheheen of Fayetteville, N.C., Kathryn N. Jones of Hartsville and Lacey A. Truelove of Fayetteville, N.C., Five brothers; Thomas H. Freeman and his wife Judy, Jessie T. Freeman and his wife Margaret , Lonnie J. Freeman, Donnie L. Freeman and Earl D. Freeman and his wife Donna all of Bethune, Four sisters; Betty Bartell and her husband Wayne of Kershaw, Peggy Thompson and her husband Gary of Kershaw, Mae Blackmon and her husband Frankie of Bethune and Pat Robinson and her husband Larry of Kershaw, sixty-eight nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Kershaw County Home Health and Hospice. They would like to also thank in loving gratitude, Brandy Freeman, RN, Teresa Freeman, RN, and Brad Freeman ,RN for the special loving care that they provided for their uncle, so that he could remain at home.
The family will receive friends and family, TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2008, from 7 to 9 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, and other times at the home 3852 Freeman Road, Bethune.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2008 from the Shamrock Baptist Church, Bethune. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
