James E. "Ed" McInvaille, 92, of Kershaw, passed away, Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in Providence Health, Columbia. Born in York Co., he was a son of the late James William McInvaille and Lessie Adams McInvaille. Mr. McInvaille was a longtime insurance agent and a World War II, Navy veteran. Mr. McInvaille was also known as the “Shirt Man” or “Flag Man” , he could be seen all over town selling his goods and offering friendly conversation.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents; a son, Randy McInvaille and a brother, Derrell McInvaille .
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Betty McCorkle McInvaille; his son, James W. “Billy Mac” McInvaille and his wife Crystal of Camden; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Dillard, Amanda (Jeremy) Dillard, Lt. James William (Alexa) McInvaille, II, Jonathan Riley Bradley and Avery Ryan Bradley and a great granddaughter, Greenly Dillard. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Linda Bowers of Jefferson, Janet (Bill) Brock and Janice (Dean) Hansen all of Myrtle Beach.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2020, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home to celebrate his life. Rev. Kennith Adams will officiate.
The family will greet visitors and friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Those attending are asked to wear face coverings for the safety of everyone.
