James E. "Jimmy" Williams

James E. “Jimmy” Williams, age 82, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Thursday morning, November 9, 2023, in MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late James Lucas Williams and Minnie Connell Williams. Mr. Williams was an electrician employed with E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. prior to his retirement. He was a member of Bethany Westville Baptist Church, Westville, S.C. Mr. Williams enjoyed working in his yard. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and nephews. He was an avid basketball fan and cherished the time he spent visiting with friends at Reese’s Service Station.


He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pauline J. Williams; special nephew Bryan Reese and his wife, Tammy of Kershaw, S.C. 2 sisters, Margie Reese, and Pauline Redick both of Kershaw, S.C.; 3 sisters-in-law, Ruth E. Williams of Kershaw, S.C., Betty Williams of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Libby Horton of Kershaw, S.C.; his brother-in-law, Jerry Bradley of Kershaw, S.C. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Horace Williams, James Lucas Williams, Jr., John Carl Williams, Eddie Williams, “Snookie” Williams, Ralph Williams and Henry Frank Williams and a sister, Marguerite W. Bradley.


A graveside service will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Edgar Horton will officiate the service, nephew of Mr. Williams. Burial will follow in the cemetery.


The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.
