A memorial service for James Brian “Jimmy” Dickinson, 46, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, June 30, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Chaplain Susan Kohler will officiate the service.
Mr. Dickinson died Sunday, June 24, at his home. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was a son of James Leroy and Karen Ann Learned Dickinson. He was of Catholic faith and a Karaoke Disc Jockey. Mr. Dickinson loved music and enjoyed reading. He held an associate’s degree from Naugatuck Community College and was a true Renaissance man.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Theresa Suzanne Osborne Dickinson of the home; 3 children, Katlyn Karvelis of Waterbury, CT, Thomas Karvelis of Waterbury, CT and Bradley Karvelis of Columbia; his sister, Jackie Wilcox and her husband Steve of Naugatuck, CT; a niece, Emily Wilcox; a nephew, Logan Wilcox; numerous aunts, uncles and his canine companion, Rascal. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Karvelis.
