A funeral service for James D. Adams, 79, of Kershaw, S.C., will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017, in the sanctuary of Lancaster Church of God, Lancaster, S.C. The Revs. Douglas Martin, B. Doyle Roberts and Wayne Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church, Lancaster, S.C.
Mr. Adams died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Mount Croghan, S.C., he was a son of the late Clarence T. Adams and Ruby Arrant Parker. Mr. Adams was employed with Springs Industries for 18 years and retired from E. I. Dupont Co. after 26 years of service. He was a faithful member of Lancaster Church of God where he served with Men In Action. He also loved to garden, so he would have plenty of vegetables to share.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Melinda Parker, Melisa A. Kern and her husband Jay and Janet A. Smith; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Parker, Micheal Parker, Nicole Smith, Emily Smith, McKenzie Kern, Clinton Kern, Tealey Kern and Savanna Kern and a sister, Marcene Roberts and her husband Bobby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Lynn Daniel Adams and 2 brothers, Carroll Ray Adams and Clarence Edward Adams.
The family will receive friends, Friday evening, December 1, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
