James Alson Collins

A funeral service for James Alson Collins, 56 of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Collins will be cremated following the service. Rev. Jamie Rogers will officiate. Mr. Collins died Saturday evening, November 26, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Florence, S.C., he was the son of Barbara Melton Collins and the late Troy Gary Collins. He was a loom technician in the textile industry. Mr. Collins enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. Surviving in addition to his mother of Lugoff, his wife ; Cindee Hastings Collins of the home, a daughter; Teresa Freeman and her husband Chris of Bethune, a son; James Collins and his wife Megan of Lugoff, four grandchildren; Megan Collins, Matt Freeman, Bailey Freeman and Jesse Collins and a brother; Gary Collins and his wife Becky of Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the funeral home and other times at their home.
