Jake Jeff Geiger

Graveside services for Jake Jeff Geiger, 85, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate.

Mr. Geiger , widower of Grace Rollings Geiger died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Lancaster Convalescent Center. Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Will and Mattie Hayes Geiger. He was retired from Springs Industries and enjoyed farming. Mr. Geiger was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Carol Taylor and Betty Jean Stevens both of Kershaw, 3 sons; Jerry Geiger of Jefferson, Howard Geiger of Kershaw and Tony Geiger of Camden, 2 brothers; J.D. Geiger of Fort Lawn, Buck Geiger of Pageland, 2 sisters; Nannie Hammond of Lancaster and Thelma Melton of Jefferson, a number of grandchildren, great -grandchildren and 2 great - great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sons; Jackie Geiger, Billy Joe Geiger, a daughter; Gail Byrd, a son-in-law; Fred Stevens, a daughter -in-law; Nancy G. Geiger, 2 brothers; Richard Geiger, Bill Geiger and a sister; Bertha Bryson.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 6116 Old Lancaster Highway, Kershaw.
