Iva Lee W. Hendrix

Funeral services for Iva Lee Williams Hendrix, 90 of Kershaw, S.C. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mrs. Hendrix died Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C. Born in the Buffalo community of Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Franklin and Luria Roberts Williams. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Springs Industries after 44 years of service. Mrs. Hendrix loved being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Perry Rowell Hendrix of the home; 2 sons, Dennis Hendrix and his wife Nan of Kershaw, Wendell Hendrix and his wife Lisa of Charlotte, N.C.; her daughter, Pamela Welch of Kershaw; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer ”Jay” Farmer, Lee Bowers, Chris Welch, Cody Welch and Matthew Hendrix; 1 great grandson, Wade Bowers; her sister, Mary Catherine Brannon of Scotch Plains, N.J. and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 5 sisters and a granddaughter, Maghan Bowers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
