Funeral services for Inez Horton Russell, 81 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Kershaw, SC. The Revs. Tony Pope and Don Knight will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mrs. Russell died Sunday, January 11, 2015, in KershawHealth, Camden, SC. Born in the Charlesboro community of Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Coleman and Virgie Faile Horton. She retired from Springs Industries after 32 years of service. Mrs. Russell enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She also was a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, James Allen Russell and his wife Sherie, Morris L. Russell and his wife Ellenia, a daughter, Donna R. Phillips and her husband Keith all of Kershaw, SC; five grandchildren, Danielle R. (Brent) Coley, Caleb T. (Brooke) Russell, T. Alex Jackson, Cole Edward Russell and W. Grey Phillips; two sisters, Eufala Couch, Mary Esther Faile and a brother, John Thomas Horton all of Heath Springs, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. “Sonny” Russell, Jr.; a grandson, Taylor James Jackson; a sister, Queen Strickland; a brother, Robert Edison Horton and a daughter-in-law, Candice P. Russell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home of her son, 873 Baxley Pond Road, Kershaw, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church – Building Fund, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.
