A memorial service to celebrate the life of Heyward J. Robinson, 84, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Monday afternoon, January 15, in the sanctuary of White Bluff Baptist Church. Rev. Doug Humphries will officiate.
Mr. Robinson, widower of Mary Kennington Robinson died Friday, January 12, at his home. Born Kershaw, he was a son of the late Willie and Mayo Small Robinson. He retired from Mineral Mining Corporation and was a member of White Bluff Baptist Church. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, country music and traveling to the mountains. Mr. Robinson especially cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his son, Mike (Denise) Robinson; 2 daughters, Sharon “Sherry” (Dennis) Williams, Dawn (Deryle) Blakley; 7 grandchildren, Nancy (Jason) Smith, Anna (J.T.) Sims, Brian Williams, Will Blakley, Jason Blakley, Jackson Robinson, Lindsey Robinson; 8 great grandchildren, Gracie, Jaycie, Abby, Elizabeth, Avery, Brona, Mary Alice and Haven Grace; 2 sisters, Sara (Joe) Grier, Polly (Olin) Broughton; 2 brothers, Steve (Gloria) Robinson, Olin (Terry) Robinson; his sister-in-law, Ruth Robinson and his brother-in-law, Boake Deese. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Holcomb and siblings, Lucille Brown, Mabel West, William Robinson, Annette Deese and Willie Hazel Robinson.
The family will receive friends, Sunday evening, January 14, from 6:30 to 8:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
