A funeral service for Heyward Fulton Davis, Sr., 93, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in Community Bible Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverends Jerry Peacock and Tony Gould will officiate. Mr. Davis died Sunday, February 22, 2015, in Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden. Born in Bishopville, SC, he was the son of the late Fulton and Minnie Lee Davis. Mr. Davis was a painter in the auto body repair industry and a founding member of Community Bible Church. He also served in the US Air Force in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Myrtle Boykin Davis of Camden; two sons, Fulton Davis and his wife Ruth of Camden and Terry Davis of Bishopville; three grandsons, Matt Davis and his wife Jennifer of Camden, Jacob Davis and his fiancé Kayla and Drew Davis all of Bishopville, two great granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Gardner and her husband Daniel and Morgan Davis all of Camden. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Wednesday, February 25, beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m. in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Ruth and Fulton Davis. Memorials may be made to Community Bible Church, 5711 Red Hill Road, Camden, SC 29020 or the charity of one’s choice. Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw is serving the Davis family.
