Henry Franklin Williams, 86, of Chapin, S.C. and formerly of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Friday morning, March 5, 2021, at his home. Born in the Thorn Hill community of Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Joseph Walter Williams, Sr. and Susan Vincent Williams. Mr. Williams was the owner of the Williams Agency in Heath Springs for 40 years. He served on the Lancaster County Natural Gas Authority Board for 28 years. He currently was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, Irmo, S.C. and was a past member of Heath Springs Baptist Church where he had served as trustee and deacon. He was active in the Heath Springs community, serving as a member of the Heath Springs Lions Club and was a member of Barron Lodge # 261.
Mr. Williams was an avid Gamecock sports fan and enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Edna Horton Williams; his daughter, Monica Williams; special child, Jana Hair; his brother, Earl Williams; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cecil and Ellen Horton and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Pauline Sowell, Sara Lane and Viola Sowell and a brother, Joe Williams.
A graveside service will be held, Sunday, March 7, 2021, in Salem Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. at 3:00 o’clock p.m. The Rev. Dr. Frankie Melton and Rev. Dr. Emery Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
The family will greet friend’s immediately following the service in the cemetery.
