A funeral service for Hazel Eugene “Gene” Faulkenberry, Jr., 65 of Lancaster, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the sanctuary of Pineview Baptist Church, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revered Cliff Henson will officiate. Mr. Faulkenberry died suddenly, Monday, April 13, at his home. Born in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Hazel Eugene, Sr. and Carrie Bell Sharpe Faulkenberry. He was currently employed with Burns Ford, Lancaster. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Linda Sowell Faulkenberry of the home; a daughter, Tracie Lynn Faulkenberry; a son, Joshua Eugene “Josh” Faulkenberry and his wife Terri; three grandchildren, Mason Doster, Maranda Faulkenberry and Caroline Faulkenberry; a sister, Annette Snipes and four brothers, Steve, Randy, Donny and Kim Faulkenberry. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Baker. The family will receive friends following the burial in the Pineview Baptist Church Family Life Center and other times at 307 S. Minor St., Kershaw, SC. Memorials in memory of Mr. Faulkenbery may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311. Baker Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Faulkenberry.
