Funeral service for Hazel A. Hilton, 72, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2011 in Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Hilton died Tuesday, December 6, in Springdale Healthcare, Camden. Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Willie Davis and Etta Mae Brasington Hilton. He retired from Springs Industries after 43 years of service and as sexton of First Baptist Church after 29 years of service. He was a graduate of Kershaw High School and attended Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are a step-son; Michael Hunter and his wife Sherry of Kershaw, sister; Lib Faulkenberry and her husband Marvin of Kershaw, 4 step-granddaughters; Kristen H. Galuppi and her husband Greg of Myrtle Beach, Stephanie H. Rollings and her husband Catlin of Heath Springs, Beth Gibson and her husband Jason and Kayla Hunter and step-great grandson; Hunter Gibson all of Kershaw. The family will receive friends, Thursday, December 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his step-son, 301 S. Minor Street, Kershaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Laurel Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 373, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. He was preceded in death by his wife; Bobbie L. Gilmer Hilton, step-son and daughter-in-law; Dean “Hammer” and Vida B. Hunter, 3 brothers; James W. Hilton, Sr., Louis Hilton and Bruce W. Hilton.
