A home going service to celebrate the life of Hattie Mae Adams, 85, will be held Friday, January 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Revs. Todd Montgomery and Will Washburn will officiate. Mrs. Adams died at her home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Born in Orangeburg, she was the daughter of the late Winslow and Edrice Strickland Webb. Mrs. Adams was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and cooking. Surviving are her children, Jeannie Merrell (Richard), Linda Matthews, Sharon Brasington (Scott), Amy Deese (Scottie), John Adams, and adopted daughter, Wanda Watson; grandchildren, Susan McClain, Janet Arant (Chad), Tina Honea (Chris), Monica Cagle (Ryan), Greta Richardson (Brian), Daniel Matthews (Leann), Adam Truesdale (Leann), Alicia Brown (Derek), Eric Deese (Carrie),Crystal Deese and John Deese; great grandchildren, Ryan McClain, Regan McClain, Jade Arant, Zayne Arant, Skylar Honea, Sebastian Honea, Andrew Cagle, Aidan Cagle, Anna Rose Cagle, Ava Richardson, Braxton Richardson, Caeley Mae Truesdale, Cam Truesdale, Allie Brown, Collin Bown, Summer Sewell, Jacob Deese, Josie Deese, Dottie Deese, and Will Deese; sisters, Barbara Pettit, Alice Murphy, and Annie Harrell (Hepburn); brother, David Webb (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Jo Lynn Adams and Vera Brodie. She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene Herbert Melton and second husband, William Lytle Adams; great grandson, Chase Arant, great-great grandchild, Ariel Clanton; sister, Lula Webb, and brother, JW (Jimmy Winslow) Webb. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
