Harry Lee Boyd

Harry Lee Boyd, 91, of Kershaw, S.C., died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home. Born in Scotland Neck, N.C., he was a son of the late James Elisha Boyd, Sr. and Addie Lee Parks Boyd. Mr. Boyd was associated with Heilig-Meyers Furniture from 1963-1995. He was the manager upon his retirement. He was a former member of First Baptist Church for 40 years and currently a member of Pineview Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon at the church. He also enjoyed visiting church members. Mr. Boyd was a member of the Kershaw Lion’s Club, delivered Meals on Wheels and enjoyed playing golf. Most importantly he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Boyd was married to the late Janie Lee Harrell Boyd.

He is survived by his 3 children, Mike Boyd and his wife, Diane of Columbia, S.C., Kelly Boyd of the home and Paula Sinclair and her husband, Steve of Lancaster, S.C.; 8 grandchildren, Kristie (Scott) Hunter, Lori Short, Dean (Danielle) Grooms, Cory (Bobby) Legg, Katie (Rob) Cottingham, Ashley (Elliott) Wall, Harrison Boyd and Dylan Sinclair; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, James Boyd, Jr. and Claude Boyd, both of Scotland Neck, N.C. and his special friend, Nell Terry. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Boyd.

A graveside service will be held, Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery with military honors.

The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.

Friends may pay their respects and sign the register, Sunday, November 14, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Baker Funeral Home.
