Harriett L. Neal

Funeral services for Harriett L. Hawkins Neal 71, of Kershaw, SC will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Center Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Jackie Jenkins and Steve Miller will officiate. Mrs. Neal died Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia, SC. Born in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Madison and Mary Sue Robbins Hawkins. She retired from the Lancaster County School District after 39 years of service. Mrs. Neal was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church and a graduate of Kings College. She loved attending sporting events and traveling with friends. She was also an avid walker and loved people. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James M. “Jimmy” Neal; two sons, Bryant Neal and his wife Beth of Kershaw, SC, Scott Neal and his wife, Jody of Camden, SC; five grandchildren, Laura Beth Neal, Blythe Milbourne Neal, Sloane Caroline Neal, Bry Neal, and Ava Townsend Neal; two sisters, Glenda Reeves (Deanie) of Chester,SC and Libby Best of Florence, SC. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Neal; a sister, Peggy Sue Hawkins and a brother-in-law, Robert Best. The family will receive friends Friday, December 19, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Center Grove Baptist Church, 236 Scout Cabin Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.
