Harold Ernest Scott, 80, of Kershaw, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021. There will be a graveside service officiated by Rev. Steve Anglin at Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the cemetery. We ask that those attending the service practice social distancing and wear a face covering at the graveside service for everyone’s safety.

Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book, Thursday, February 4, prior to the service from 12:15 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. The family will not be present.

Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was the son of the late Ernest Barnwell and Alma Christine Payne Scott. Mr. Scott was a Veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from Continental Tire after 30 years of service. Mr. Scott was a member of Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church where he served in many roles including Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School teacher, and various other leadership roles. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed golf and classic cars. He especially enjoyed attending events in his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air with his wife Janet.

Surviving are his three sons, Patrick Dean Scott and his wife, Amy of Rock Hill, S.C., Steven Lee Scott of Kershaw, S.C., and Jason Todd Scott and his wife, Jennifer of Camden, S.C.; six grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Julia, Matthew, Haleigh and Gracie; two sisters, Patricia Hinson and her husband Wayne of Kershaw, S.C. and Susan Rollings of Kershaw, S.C.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Janet Hunter Scott and his brothers, Jerry and Jackie Scott.
