A service of worship to celebrate the life of Grace Truesdale Clyburn , 101 of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. The Revs. Scott Mosley and Edgar McCall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Clyburn, loving wife of the late Henry Lewis Clyburn passed away, Thursday, September 12, in her sleep at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late John Samuel Truesdale and Grace Emma Clyburn Truesdale. Mrs. Clyburn was a sales clerk at Dodd’s Dime Store for 40 years. She was a former member of the Garden Club and enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles and riding around town. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with people.
Surviving are 2 sons; Henry Maxwell “Max” Clyburn of Lancaster; Lewis T. “Terry” Clyburn and his wife Pam of Kershaw; a daughter, Graceann C. Jones and her husband Charles of Kershaw; 7 grandchildren, Bob (Mary) Clyburn, Marla Clyburn, James Clyburn, Lara B. (Mike) Catoe, Anna B. (Rev. Matthew) Gunn and Jonathan (Crystal) Baker and Crystal (John) Seegars; 18 great grandchildren, Grayson Clyburn, Evelyn (John) Hirsh, Hayes Clyburn, Elizabeth Bowers, Kelly Bowers, Olivia Bowers, Grace Catoe, Phillip (Terri) Catoe, Ryan (Lacey) Catoe, Lauren Catoe, Audra Catoe, Macaela (Chris) Denno, Kaleb Jonathan Baker, Colin Henry Baker, Mollie Grace Gunn, Hazel Katheine Gunn, Baker Lewis Gunn and J.J. Collins; 2 great-great grandchildren, Skylar Catoe and Emma Grace Knight. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen L. Truesdale, 2 sisters, Carolyn T. Carmichael and Dorothy Truesdale; a daughter-in-law, Ruth S. Clyburn and a son-in-law, Phillip C. Baker.
The family will greet friends, Saturday, September 14, prior to the funeral, beginning at 1:30 o’clock p.m. to 3:00 o’clock p.m. at the church fellowship hall and other times at Mrs. Clyburn’s home.
