Grace A. Sims

Funeral services for Grace A. Goodier Sims, age 58, of Lancaster, S.C., will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The Revs. Mike Etters and Terry Corder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary and other times at the home of her daughter, Mary in Kershaw, S.C.

Mrs. Sims, widow of Marion A. “Sheriff” Sims passed away, Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022, at Hospice of Union, Monroe, N.C. Born in Corning, NY, she was a daughter of Carol Ann Doty and the late Thomas Garfield Goodier. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation. Grace loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing and putting together puzzles. She cared about her patients she was caring for.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her 2 daughters, Mary (Greg) Demby of Kershaw, S.C., Crystal (Phillip) Teal of Spartanburg, S.C.; 8 grandchildren, Brooke, Katelyn, MacKenzie, Matthew, Eliyanah, Collin, Luke and Victoria; her brother, Rick Goodier of St. George, S.C. and 2 sisters, Pam (Tim) Goodier and Dina (Brian) Shaw all of NY.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julia.
