Glen Matthews, age 55, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday, January 27, 2020, at his home. Born in Lancaster, S.C. he was a son of the late Warren G. Matthews and Lillie Aline Ivey Matthews. He was a brick mason and a faithful member of Frontline Biker Church. He loved his church. Mr. Matthews enjoyed farming, working in his shop and listening to music. He never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Ruth Moseley; a brother, Edward Matthews and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Julie Ivey.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Kelly Goodman and Alicia Goodman; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert (Shirley) Matthews of Kershaw, Ray (Viola) Matthews of Beaufort, Shirley (Matthew) Ray, Brenda (Mike) Borquez of Kershaw and Betty (Dale) Ray of Kershaw and his companion, Lois “Juicy” Bryson.
Mr. Matthews’s casket will be carried to the home of his sister, 2063 Red Maple Road, Kershaw, Wednesday, January 29, and the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Frontline Biker Church. Pastor Cotton Pate will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
