Gladys Garris Baker

Funeral services for Gladys Garris Baker, 92, will be held Friday, April 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. April Baker will and Jamie Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Baker, widow of James Cleo Baker, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in Lancaster Convalscent Center, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Eula Catoe Garris. She had retired as a retail clerk with Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. Surviving are her brothers-in-law; Walter H. Baker (Maxine) of Kershaw; Perry Baker (Dorothy) and Jasper Baker, nieces, Rev. April Baker, Amy Sullivan, Jeanette Pittman, Sherie Russell, Penny West, Robin Catoe, Wanda Sowell, Deborah Spillman, nephews; Brad Faulkenberry and Dale Faulkenberry. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of her brother-in-law, 185 Kamala Rd., Kershaw. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
