Gettys Albert Baker

Memorial services for Gettys Albert Baker, 76, of Stockton, California and formerly of Kershaw, S.C. will be held Sunday, August 31, 2008, at 3:00 P.M. in Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Kershaw.

Mr. Baker died Friday, August 22, 2008, in Stockton, California. Born in Kershaw, He was the son of the late Whiteford and Lillie Baker. Mr. Baker retired from the US Navy and was currently employed with the US Customs Service . He was a member of Twin Oaks Community Church in Stockton where he served as deacon and was very active in the music program. Mr. Baker was an avid golfer and enjoyed politics.

Surviving are his wife, the former Sue Baker of Stockton, 3 children; Marla Yoell and her husband Steve of Spokane, Washington, Rev. Martin Baker and his wife Liz and Julie Horton and her husband Mickey all of Stockton, 2 grandchildren; Nathan Baker and Amanda Baker both of Stockton, 6 sisters; Marie Hancock, Doris West, Odessa Faile, Shirley Connell all of Kershaw and Betty Sue West and her husband Buck and Eleanor Watkins both of Bethune.
